Winter Round Up

http://kingstonshowponies.com/?p=1174

Well what a fantastic Show Season we had at Kingston Show Ponies our highlights were attending our first Pinto show since rejoining the Victorian Pinto Society after approximately 15 years away from the breed taking our recently purchased Hillydale Spring Sonata to win Champion Junior and then Supreme Champion Pinto at the Victorian Pinto Klassic, she also attended the Pinto of the Year show and gained Runner Up Junior Pinto of the Year 2014

Our Riding Pony filly was not to be out done with Kingston Momento attending her first major show the Victorian Riding Pony of the Year where she was named Home Produced Junior Riding Pony of the Year 2014

Possibly the biggest highlight was piloting La Bella Park Patient Reward to win Barastoc Supreme Pinto and then going on to compete against all breed supreme winners to be named Barastoc Supreme of Supreme in hand breed exhibit a very emotional day for his owner and myself to have won such a prestigious award with a pinto pony under 11 judges from the UK and Australia.

On the breeding front – we have booked in Hillydale Spring Sonata to the imported Riding Pony Bradmore Toy Soldier and are eagerly awaiting what will be our first coloured show pony.

Just in Time of Astral will also be mated this season but we are yet to decide who to as we would like to inspect a few more stallions.

In sales news we have an outstanding refined 2 1/2 year old filly (pictured above) by Turberry Tom Kitten x Just in Time of Astral, this pony has a huge future ahead of her and we invite you to inspect her. its only a few months until show season so get in quick because she will be a huge winner next season.

Seasons Greetings

Well we are in the middle of the show season now all of our agricultural shows are done and dusted

Kingston Show Ponies team has been out sparingly but with great results. Firstly our yearling filly Kingston Momento made her debut and from 2 shows has won 3 champions

Our 14 year old broodmare Just in Time of Astral continues to be miss reliable and although mainly taken to the shows to be a baby sitter for the newcomers she still manages to never leave a show without a Champion or Reserve. We always say that this will be her last season but when the next season comes around she always seems to be in the stable being prepped. Jussy was to be served this season but we have decided that we would like another year without foals so we can concentrate on the youngsters we have.

We said good bye to Beeswing Storytime who made the journey to NSW and Brandyhollow Park where she will be broken in and campaigned as a saddle pony we couldn’t be happier to find Tab such a fantastic home.

We also welcomed the pretty Homozygous filly Hillydale Spring Sonata, with the idea of breeding her to Riding Pony stallions in the future, being Homozygous means that every foal she producers with be Pinto so we look forward to dabbling with the wealth of bloodlines here in Australia and hopefully the result will be a very special colt. Tilly also attended her first show with us for Supreme Champion APSB all sections exhibit.

On a devastating note due to complications our first home bred foal Kingston Sonata was sadly put to sleep , it was a huge blow for all of us here as we mourn the loss of such a beautiful cheeky pony. In memory of Jaxson who never made it to the ring, we have decided to finally educate his mother Kolbeach Moment and campaign her as a saddle pony – she has the most amazing movement and we are sure she will do her progeny proud. In the coming weeks we hope to keep everyone posted with her progress via Facebook so if you would like to follow her journey please like “Kingston Show Ponies” on facebook.

Well a lot has happened since our last update, firstly our beautiful broodmare Just in Time of Astral (AI) had another successful inhand season, now rising 14 years old and 3 foals later we still can’t believe how successful  she is, always coming home with a broad sash. She will be heading in foal early this season to a very special stallion in the hope she producers a foal that will be the future of Kingston Show Ponies.

I should also mention all her foals have been incredibly successful, Her first born Newington Tinkerbell has taken all before her in her first season under saddle winning countless small pony of the year titles including VASA and Show Horse Council

Her second born, Newington Birthday Girl who is full sister to Tinkerbell, has had an amazing first season at such a young age – winning multiple inhand and saddle championship and supremes with her new owners in Qld

Her last foal our home bred Just a Doll of Kingston by Turberry Tom Kitten was very lightly shown last season being born in January 2012 she attended all shows as a weanling and was always the youngest in her classes, she achieved multiple champions and wins from only 3 shows including the Riding Pony Pageant and Vic Riding Pony  Youngstock Show. She will be left this season to mature and boy is she gonna be a big one, exciting times ahead.

Our last home bred foal, Kingston Momento also by Turberry Tom Kitten but out of our beautiful Kolbeach Moment, attended her only foal show for the season and was Champion first time out under an English Judge. She is truly spectacular and we look forward to a very exciting show season with both her and the soon to be pregnant Just in Time of Astral

We have a very special young mare currently for sale, please see our sales page for more information
